Grounded in painting, Saunders’ work makes porous and provocative relationships with other forms, especially photography, printmaking and installations of animated films. Says the artist of his work, “I strive to embody the fleeting images—to embed them inseparably in their materials and have them speak of those materials.” Saunders has shown his work at MoMA, the Whitney Museum, Tate Liverpool, the Guggenheim, among other museums. His work is represented by Marian Goodman Gallery of New York, London and Paris.
The Art Talks Lecture Series is sponsored by the College of Art and Design MFA in Visual Arts program and the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
