Malpaso Dance Company

One of the most sought-after Cuban dance companies in the world, island-favorite Malpaso Dance Company will return to The Yard in collaboration with Arturo O’Farrill and the Afro Jazz Latin Ensemble to present Osnel Delagdo’s “24 Hours and a Dog”. Malpaso will also perform “Tabula Rasa”, by Ohad Naharin of Batsheva Dance Company. Both works are sure to bring a high energy performance to the MVPAC! Pianist, composer, educator Arturo O’Farrill founded the Afro Latin Jazz Alliance, and is the winner of the 2016 Grammy Award for Best Instrumental Composition, the 2016 Latin Grammy Award for Best Latin Jazz Recording, and the 2018 Grammy for Best Instrumental Composition. Malpaso Dance Company is lead by Artistic Director Osnel Delgado, who has received as received major Cuban awards including the Premio a Mejor Coreografia del Concurso Solamente Solos and el Premio Ramiro Guerra.
