Longwood Symphony Orchestra’s Music Director, Ronald Feldman, will be stepping down from the podium at the end of this season. The concert on May 14 will be his last with the orchestra at Jordan Hall.

“Leaving the Longwood Symphony Orchestra, an organization I have been blessed and honored to be a part of, has been the most difficult decision I have made,” says Ronald Feldman, Longwood Symphony Orchestra Music Director since 2012. “I am beyond proud to have shared the stage with this amazing group of people.”

About the Soloist
RACHELL ELLEN WONG, VIOLIN
A rising star on both the historical performance and modern violin stages, violinist Rachell Ellen Wong has performed throughout the United States and Canada, as well as in the UK, Canada, Italy Costa Rica, Panama, China, and New Zealand. Recipient of a 2020 Avery Fisher Career Grant, she is a sought-after collaborator, and her growing reputation as one of the top historical performers of her generation has resulted in appearances with such respected ensembles as the American Bach Soloists and The Academy of Ancient Music, and tours with Bach Collegium Japan, Les Arts Florissants, and others. In 2020 she made her conducting debut leading Vivaldi’s Four Seasons with the Seattle Symphony.
Among the orchestras with which Ms. Wong has appeared as soloist are Orquesta Sinfónica Nacional de Panamá, Seattle Symphony, and Orquesta Sinfónica (Costa Rica); she has appeared in concerts with pianists Anton Nel and Byron Schenkman, and the New Zealand String Quartet; and made a 16 concert, four-city tour of New Zealand with the New Zealand String Quartet which included the New Zealand premiere of Alexander Ekman’s Cacti for on stage string quartet and ballet with the Royal New Zealand Ballet.
A recent graduate of The Juilliard School, Ms. Wong performs on a baroque violin from the school of Joachim Tielke, and on a modern violin by Carlo de March.
