Learn Online: Bundle Dyeing Tote Bags Using Natural Materials (Ages 13+)

Class Description
Express your creative style and colors in this natural dyeing workshop. During these sessions, you will learn how to bundle dye with flowers, leaves, and plants you find in your garden or neighborhood! You will be provided a list of the best plants to choose from a week before our class starts so you can begin collecting. Discover how each plant will print and dye your tote bag with beautiful colors from nature.

This class is open to students ages 13+, but will require parental supervision for any student younger than 18 years old. Parents can register on behalf of their student and a separate form will be emailed to you requesting information about the student participating. 

Class Goals
Learn more about flowers and plants and how they produce natural dyes
Use natural material to create multiple colors for your tote bag
Follow step-by-step directions to create your colorful dyes

Online Access
The workshop be run through Zoom; a link will be provided 24hrs before the start of the class. Students will need to log into Zoom via a computer/mobile device. Students will need access to a stove to boil their bundles during the class session.

Materials
$10 per kit; payable to the Instructor. Material kits will be mailed out approx 1 week prior to the start of the class. You will receive an email requesting your shipping address. Arrangements for pick up can also be made on July 15th or 16th by emailing teach@artisansasylum.com.
