Kristen Lee Sergeant's "Smolder" with special guest Ted Nash

Kristen Lee Sergeant is a jazz vocalist and composer of effervescent energy, musical intensity, and dramatic flair. Celebrating Sergeant’s return to the Boston stage with her new DownBeat Editor’s Pick album “Smolder” at Berklee’s The Red Room at Cafe  939 Boylston Street, Boston on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at 8 pm (doors open @ 7:30 pm). Joining Sergeant will be special guest and Grammy winner Ted Nash, pianist Jeb Patton, and local heavy-hitters Robert Gullotti (drums) and Gregory Ryan (bass).

Her albums have received two editor’s pick mentions by DownBeat magazine. “This elegant album,” said Downbeat of her current release, Smolder, “is what happens when admirable ambition is paired with vocal vibrancy.”

With a background in theater, Sergeant brings storytelling and heart to her work, while sparking spontaneous sonic conversation with fellow musicians. A Brandeis graduate and native of Manchester-by-the-Sea, Massachusetts, Sergeant is thrilled to be making her debut performance as a jazz artist in her home state.
