Kalliope Reed Quintet performs free holiday concert in Arlington!

Come hear the Kalliope Reed Quintet in Arlington! This colorful combination of oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bass clarinet, and bassoon will perform an exciting program featuring works by Bach, Rameau, some selections from the Nutcracker, and more!

Come join us as we start the new year with a concert Saturday January 4th in Arlington! We will be playing an exciting semi-holiday themed program featuring works by Bach, Rameau, and some selections from the Nutcracker arranged for Reed Quintet. Our honorees include graphic memoirist Alison Bechdel, crime & legal thriller novelist William Landay, sports journalist Dan Shaughnessy, and poet Kevin Young, followed by a keynote address by Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer Stacy Schiff. We're excited about the 15th annual @southasianshowdown this Saturday, presented by our friends at @bostonbhangra at the Strand Theatre! The Showdown puts the best Fusion and Bollywood/Hindi-Film dance teams up against one another, giving the judges the unenviable task of deciding who is the best of the best. Fusion dance combines different dance styles, set to Indian music, creating its own distinct form of dance, while the Bollywood and Hindi-Film dance style is inspired by the musical numbers seen in Indian films and features expression, themes, and storylines. This will be an unbelievable show and an unparalleled experience for all ages!
