Gallery Talk: Cynthia Fowler on Nicholas Nixon’s People with AIDS

Cynthia Fowler, professor of art history at Emmanuel College, will share her personal connection with Nicholas Nixon’s People with AIDS series. Between 1987 and 1991, Nixon photographed 15 individuals with AIDS, including Fowler’s brother, Paul. She will discuss with visitors how the reception of these provocative images has changed from the 1980s to today.
