FREE ARTIST TALK: “SA+C Artist in Residence Hanna Washburn”

Artist Hanna Washburn will talk about her work, in which she uses discarded and donated clothing and other materials to create amorphous but organic-inspired soft sculptures.

Boston-based interdisciplinary textile artist Hanna Washburn holds the current artist in residence title at the Society of Arts + Crafts’ rotating location for working artists.  A graduate of Kenyon College in Ohio and New York’s School of Visual Arts, Washburn says her work is concerned with “the softness and imperfection of the body, material memory, and craft practices.”  She will talk about her work, in which she uses discarded and donated clothing and other materials to create
