Fabric Stamping Workshop with Carol Anne Grotrian

The South Shore Natural Science Center is pleased to announce a workshop with quilter Carol Anne Grotrian of Cambridge, MA.  Using a variety of techniques, Carol Anne creates quilts that are truly one-of-a-kind.  They may be stitched, dyed, layered, printed, or a combination!  Carol Anne will be leading a workshop for those interested in trying out Fabric Stamping, on May 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Science Center.  Advance registration is required for the workshop.

People have been dyeing and decorating fabric for centuries.  Stamp printing is a creative way to add pattern to your fabric.  We will use a variety of techniques to add pizzazz to the textiles.  We will use store bought stamps, plus ones we make ourselves.  Design theory will be introduced and explored throughout the day.
