Explore the process of making tiles with craft foam and other upcycled styrofoam materials. During this four-session course, students will learn the process of how to create ceramic tiles both using hand design and Adobe Capture Pattern Maker. This entry-level course allows students to creatively express themselves by designing four different tiles using multiple techniques across the sessions.
The course will begin with simple projects, such as low-relief designs using foam that can be transferred or “cast” into plaster molds to make their tiles. By the end of the course, students will be able to create a tile using a silicone mold. Learn and explore how to make different types of patterns both by hand and using technology, while learning the basics of design and mold making. This is the perfect entry-level class to make and design several fun tiles that you can use for coasters, wall art, or to show off your creative skills to friends and family.
