Chinatown Lightworks Project: Community Listening Session

Please join us for a community listening session with artist Yu-Wen Wu on her Chinatown Lightworks project on Thursday, February 6 from 4:30p – 7:30p at the Pao Arts Center 99 Albany St. Boston, MA 02111. Translation services and light snacks will be provided.

During the event, Yu-Wen Wu will gather stories and learn from Chinatown’s thriving community. This participatory process will engage members of the Chinatown community to create a work that celebrates the history and future of the Chinatown neighborhood and community. As an act of placemaking and placekeeping, the artwork will represent and honor Chinatown’s rich cultural history and cross-generational residents, neighbors, and friends.

Local artist Yu-Wen Wu was selected by a Chinatown community jury for the creation of a temporary, site-specific, light-based artwork for Chin Park on The Greenway. The artwork will be installed in early August 2020 and will remain on display for 3-6 months.
