Carrie Mae Weems: BC Lowell Humanities Series Appearance: September 10
In conjunction with the exhibition opening, Weems will speak as part of the University’s Lowell Humanities Series. Her lecture, “Don’t Let Me Be Lonely,” will be held at 7 p.m. in Devlin Hall, Room 110, located on BC’s Chestnut Hill campus. Her appearance is free and open to the public. [More information here.]

Walk + Talk with the Curators of Carrie Mae Weems: Strategies of Engagement: Friday, September 21, noon–1 pm
Join the curators for an informal tour and Q+A session in the Daley Family and Monan Galleries. They will introduce major exhibition themes and offer details about how the show came together. Visitors are welcome to ask questions along the way.
Free Sunday Docent Tours: 2–3 pm (Meet in Museum Atrium)
Every Sunday beginning on September 23, the Museum will offer free docent tours from 2 to 3 pm. No prior registration is required. To schedule a separate, private tour, please contact the Museum, at 617.552.8587, at least two weeks in advance.
Into the Collection
These events offer visitors an opportunity to view and learn more about objects from the McMullen Museum’s permanent collection that are rarely on display. They may learn from Museum staff, ask questions, and share their own knowledge and observations. Fall events include:
Into the Collection: Coptic Textiles; Friday, September 28, 3:30–4:30 pm
During Boston College Parents’ Weekend, the Museum will showcase for the first time its collection of Coptic textiles from the fourth to eighth century CE.
Into the Collection: New Acquisitions of Contemporary Photography; Friday, November 2, noon–1 pm
The Museum will introduce its most recent acquisitions of contemporary photography.
