Boston Harbor Fiddle School, Visitor's Day

Your friends and family are invited and encouraged to join us on Thompson Island to enjoy the splendor of the surroundings and Scottish music that spans the spectrum from haunting airs to rollicking reels.  The price of a Visitors’ Day ticket includes transportation on the island’s “Outward Bound” boat to and from the island, an outdoor barbecue dinner, and a world-class concert featuring our faculty, followed by a session for all-who-will, and dancing.Visit friends and family attending the camp, explore the island, and enjoy dance and jam sessions and a world-class concert at Boston Harbor Scottish Fiddle School’s Visitors’ Day. Everyone is welcome. If you play an instrument, be sure to bring it along for the jam session!

Schedule

• 2:30 p.m. – Ferry departs EDIC dock in South Boston
• 3:00 p.m. – Ferry arrives at Thompson Island
• 3:30 p.m. – Concert
• 5:30 p.m. – Tour island, visit with friends and family, relax; cash bar open
• 6:30 p.m. – Dinner
• 7:30 p.m. – Session and dancing
• 8:30 p.m. – Visitors start preparing to leave
• 9:00 p.m. – Ferry departs for mainland
• 9:30 p.m. – Ferry arrives at EDIC dock in South Boston

“Missed the Boat” Option

For an additional fee, you can stay over on the Island Tuesday night and enjoy morning classes on Wednesday! See the Visitors’ Day registration page for details and pricing.
