Bees Deluxe play Boston City Winery

From Boston, via Britain, the four-piece acid-blues & modern jazz band has toured up and down the East Coast and played at festivals: the Marshfield Fair, Berlin Fair and Barnful of Blues among others, and venues ranging from the Cleveland House of Blues to Boston City Winery, Earl’s Hideaway in Sebastian, Florida and the Bull Run in Shirley, Massachusetts.

Bees Deluxe repertoire includes arresting, danceable originals as well as reinterpretations of semi-obscure classic blues and innovative takes on tunes by artists like Billie Holiday, Muddy Waters, B.B. King, Robben Ford, Albert Collins, Etta James, Joe Zawinul, J.B. Lenoir and ZZ Top.

The band has opened for artists including: Walter Trout, Joanna Shaw Taylor, Roomful of Blues and Matt Schofield. Tinsley Ellis called Bees Deluxe take on his tune “very soulful” & Blues Blast Magazine says of Bees Deluxe: “what might happen if Freddie King took a lot of acid then wrote a song with Pat Metheny and asked a strung-out Stevie Ray Vaughan to take a solo”
