Babette’s Feast, based on a story by Isak Dinesen (Karen Blixen), is the tale of a strict early 19th-century religious community in a Danish village who welcome a mysterious and surprising refugee from the Franco-Prussian War. It is a story of small-town life, of human eccentricity and wonder, of hope and disappointment. Ultimately, it is a story of grace.
