Please join us for our annual Women's History month program.
Anna Eliot Ticknor founded the first correspondence school in America in 1873, it was known as the Society to Encourage Studies at Home. For a $2 annual fee any woman over the age of 17 living in a location with mail delivery could take one of 39 courses by simply exchanging letters with a female teacher in the Boston area.
