Angela Kraft Cross at Methuen Memorial Music Hall

Angela Kraft Cross, San Francisco organist, pianist, and composer, graduated from Oberlin College/Conservatory of Music with bachelor’s degrees in Physics and Organ Performance.  She then earned her Doctor of Medicine degree at Loma Linda University.  Her organ teachers have included Louis Robilliard, Marie-Louise Langlais and William Porter.  She has also studied composition with Pamela Decker.

Dr. Kraft Cross has given over six hundred concerts worldwide.  In July 2011 she was a featured recitalist at the San Francisco AGO Regional Convention.  She has eight solo CD albums recorded in California and Europe.  Three books of organ compositions, and two anthems have been published by Lorenz Music/Sacred Music Press.  She has been Artist-in-Residence of the Congregational Church of San Mateo since 1993.

In addition to her musical career, Dr. Kraft Cross retired in 2011 having worked 22 years as an ophthalmic surgeon at Kaiser Permanente, and now volunteers as an ophthalmologist at Samaritan House.  She is the founding director of the San Francisco Peninsula Organ Academy, a nonprofit formed in 2014 to support young concert organists.
