Alfredo Rodríguez & Pedrito Martinez Duo and Arturo O'Farrill Quintet

Grammy®-nominated artists Alfredo Rodríguez and Pedrito Martinez each bring a different approach to their duo performances. A protégé of Quincy Jones, Alfredo was schooled in the rigorous classical conservatories of Havana, while Pedrito’s musical training came directly from the streets of the Cayo Hueso neighborhood of Old Havana in which he was raised. Together, these two master musicians take listeners on a unique and exciting journey.

Joining the Duo in this double bill is Arturo O’Farrill, son of one of Cuba’s most famous bandleaders, Chico O’Farrill. Celebrity Series audiences will recall his spectacular turn leading his Afro-Latin Jazz Ensemble with Malpaso Dance Company in 2016 and his Afro-Latin Jazz Orchestra in 2015. Now appearing for the first time with his quintet, featuring his sons Adam on trumpet and Zack on drums, this two-time Grammy Awardwinner keeps the family flame burning bright while breaking new ground in contemporary Latin Jazz.
