Join us at Jams for Jake for a family-friendly, outdoor community festival, featuring local music and art, community art projects, and addiction and recovery resources!
In November of 2017 we held a special event in memory of our friend Jake Czuczwa. Jams for Jake was an all-day music festival/community gathering to honor the memory of Jake, and to raise resources and awareness in the fight against the opioid epidemic. It was free, family-friendly, and open to the public. Jams for Jake was a great day of fun, music, reflection, and community that Jake would have loved. Our hope is to annually use this event as a way to create something positive to honor

Our hope is to annually use this event as a way to create something positive to honor Jake’s life and to create a space for open and honest reflection on the effects of this crisis in our lives and our communities.
This year’s Jams for Jake will feature 6 performances by local bands and musicians. We will have an on-site gallery featuring artwork provided by over 20 local artists. All art on display will be available for silent auction bidding. Our Hope and Memorial Tree will be on-site for viewing and leaf dedications will be accepted. We will also have luminaries to decorate and other ongoing community art projects. Local businesses have generously donated items and gift certificates, which will be available to win in a prize drawing – free to enter for all attendees! Local Addiction awareness and recovery groups will be in attendance with a variety of resources available for community members. Leaders of these groups will deliver short speeches on stage between musical sets. We will also be joined by representatives from businesses within the Reading community in the MarketPlace, new to this year’s festival. Bella Nonna’s food truck will be on-site with delicious Italian food for sale.
