About the Library
The Mary Baker Eddy Library opened in 2002, as a place for people to explore the life, ideas, and achievements of Mary Baker Eddy (1821-1910). She was a remarkable nineteenth-century woman who overcame adversity to write Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, a groundbreaking book on religion, health, and spirituality. Established as a cultural and historical institution, the Library provides educational experiences, programs, and exhibits, featuring the Mapparium® and the Publishing House Lobby.
The Library also offers user-friendly access to its vast collections through Research and Reference Services. As its primary resource, the Library’s collections are one of the largest by and about an American woman.
