The Nate Aronow Nextet has been jamming on the Boston music scene with its own brand of fusion, funk, latin and jazz for the past decade.  The Nextet is into variety, and the band’s original music consistently spans the contemporary progressive spectrum.  The band’s philosophy is that good music should be able to capture the listener at all levels: the intellectual, the aesthetic and the emotional.  The Nextet continually gets a positive response from audiences of all musical persuasions.

The Nextet has played venues in the Eastern Mass. such as Ryles Jazz Club (Cambridge) , the Middle East Café (Cambridge) Slades Bar & Grill (Boston) , the Shaw’s Center in Brockton, Gulu Gulu Café (Salem), the Harvest Café (Hudson),  area colleges including MIT, Harvard and Northeastern, restaurants, corporate events, and festivals such as the Newton Jazz Festival.  Three original tracks have been included on two different Sony/BMG releases in Europe called “Hot Salsa” and “The 2nd Smooth Jazz Avenue.”   The band has also performed for live broadcast on local cable television stations and on WERS-FM and WHRB-FM radio.  The band’s music video “Bikin’ the Bike” is on YouTube, and in 2010 was featured at the Boston Bike Film Festival at the Brattle Theatre in Cambridge.

The band’s newest CD, “Xpression” was released in 2011.  It features 13 new tunes packed with surprises and excitement, and the magnificent vocals of Charles Vaughan, Mike Payette and Lydia Harrell.
