A Rose Has Sprung: Music for Christmas

Get into the Holiday spirit with The Boston Cecilia at our annual Christmas concerts. The chorus celebrates the old and new with festive music that spans the centuries. Daniel Mahoney conducts a program inspired by the famous tune, Lo How a Rose E’er Blooming. The Christmas story will be told through Hugo Distler’s gorgeous variations on the tune, alongside Herbert Howells’s A Spotless Rose and other songs inspired by a mother’s love. The concerts will also include a rarely heard complete performance of Benjamin Britten’s early collection of carols, Christ’s Nativity. Come revel in the sounds of the season.
